The opposite of addiction is not sobriety, it's connection

- Johann Hari
At PATH, this wisdom guides our unique approach to recovery. Through Internal Family Systems (IFS), we recognize that lasting healing requires both external and internal connection. Our supportive community provides the understanding and acceptance often missing in traditional recovery spaces, while our IFS-based approach helps you connect with all parts of yourself - even those that may have led to addictive behaviors.
Here, connection isn't just about building relationships with others; it's about creating harmony within yourself.
New to PATH?
Welcome! We're so glad you're here.
PATH is a newcomer-friendly space. Below are some steps that can help you get started:
  1. Understanding Our Approach - PATH combines Internal Family Systems (IFS) with recovery support. IFS views our inner world as made up of different parts, all working to help us survive and thrive.
  2. Choosing a First Meeting - Explore our meetings to find one which you feel more comfortable joining. We recommend starting with an affinity space.
  3. Meeting Preparation Guidelines - All you need is a private space, an internet connection, and an open mind. No prior IFS knowledge required.
  4. Community Connection Steps - Consider subscribing to our newsletter and exploring our resources while you get started.

About PATH

PATH is an international, online recovery community rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS) for the Practice of Addiction and underlying Trauma Healing. The community is open to all people in recovery from addictions and underlying trauma as well as friends and family members who are affected by another person's burdens and addictions, inclusive of any ethnicity, social class, race, color, religion, neurotype, ability, gender and sexual orientation.

Our guided peer support groups are led by trained IFS practitioners and provide a regular coming together of people with similar problems and concerns in a non-judgmental and safe atmosphere to connect with Self and explore, express and embrace parts of the internal system. Whether you are new to IFS or a trained professional, our meetings make space for people with a variety of backgrounds to learn, share and offer mutual support in navigating personal challenges and victories.

Meetings

You can also join us in one of our free meetings.
All parts are welcome at all of our meetings, and some meetings are focused on building community exclusively among certain shared identities and affinities. We do this to safely explore how identity-specific issues affect our internal family system. If you do not consider yourself as a person matching the specified identity group, we respectfully ask that you honor the need for community, practice allyship, and find an alternative meeting on our calendar.
